history, Having been born in Canada, Teagan learned the basics of French as well as she learned those of English. She was raised to be the prim and proper example of the daughter her parents wanted. She took ballet lessons and was taught to appreciate the softer side of life. The catch? She found herself feeling as though the entire world crashed down upon her when she was eight and her best friend told her they couldn’t be friends anymore.
By the time she was thirteen, she’d realized that she was missing a vital part of being the perfect daughter. She was not and never would be heterosexual. That being said, she could never give her parents grandchildren. She took her time thinking of a way to tell them, but when she was sixteen, she decided it was time to be honest. When she told them, though, her parents responded in shock and horror. They weren’t willing to budge at all on their views, and considered Teagan a disgrace. She was kicked out of her house and, having nowhere else to go, moved to the US to live with her aunt Vanessa in Cordova, NJ.
At first, Teagan pretended to be what she thought people wanted her to be. Her aunt, though, was a lot more lenient and less judgmental than her parents. By the time she got into college, she was comfortable with her sexuality and wasn’t at all secretive about it. She actively flirted with girls she found attractive and even had a few girlfriends.
When she turned twentyone, she bought herself a tattoo for her birthday. She couldn’t help but notice that the girl who did the tattoo was impossibly attractive in a rugged sort of way. She didn’t figure she’d see her again, though.
Teagan couldn’t quit thinking about the other girl. She tried to distract herself with single girls at a local bar, but all he found was the chance to see the tattoo artist again. Apparently, the girl was also a bartender, so there wasn’t exactly a way for them to avoid one another. Teagan, of course, couldn’t help but flirt a little, but she’d always been terrible at knowing when a girl was a lesbian…
Lucky for her, the bartender happened to flirt back, and it wasn’t long before they started seeing one another. Teagan is currently a French teacher, and she occasionally acts at the community theater. She and Cass live together, though they can’t actually get married. It’s still illegal in a lot of states.
*how we do,
I refuse on principle.
