live like you're dying- - - - going to the movies had always been something charlie enjoyed, and the community playhouse was the next best thing. even if she was by herself and dressed down in comfy gray sweats, a loose black thermal, and the slippers of her choice. her hair was up in a loose and messy pony-tail (coincidentally, it looked like it had this morning when she'd first gotten up). to say charlie was...lonely here in cordova would almost be an understatement.
sure she had her sister, but it would be nice to have someone she could always call to hang out or see a movie. a boyfriend, more specifically.
naturally, once in a while, charlie felt the need to 'spoil' herself. and even more naturally, snowcaps, popcorn, and a soda was the way to do it. along with some sappy chick flick she'd let herself cry for. charlie wasn't a cryer--except in movie's, something about them just always struck a chord. the few friends she had here in georgia actually thought it was pretty funny. to be so tough and witty on the forefront, but cry when romeo and juliet didn't work out, persay.
sticking her snowcaps in the waistband of her sweats, charlie balanced the abnormally large soda and popcorn--so abnormally large she didn't think she could finish it herself--charlie headed towards the, where an old play would be put on. she hadn't expected anyone else to be heading that way, it was a small theatre, probablly because the show was unpopular, but in any case, she found herself bumping into someone in front of her, nearly losing her soda and popcorn.
"im sorry! i cant really see."
[/b] she admitted with a laugh, trying to shift her movie snacks around to see who she'd nearly drenched in diet coke and buttered popcorn. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

James didn't usually go to the movies by himself, but DJ needed time for her book. All these dates were cutting into her free time. So he decided he'd head over to see something by himself. Some silly comedy to kill time, he wasn't in the mood to work on any homework. Just wasn't worth it, as long as he got to it before Thanksgiving. Which really didn't leave him much time.
As he waited in line to get a seat, someone bumped him from behind. He turned and saw a girl half obscured by a large bucket of popcorn and soda. Much too much for one girl. "It's okay, need some help with that?" He asked gingerly taking the popcorn out of her hands. He had his own popcorn to hold too, but he'd gotten a small one. So no big deal, unless this girl didn't want a stranger holding her stuff. But really, she hardly looked liked she'd turn down help.
"Really gonna eat all this yourself?" James asked with his eyebrow raised.
ooc- sorry its not great >< watching the paraaaaaaade

live like you're dying- - - - charlotte smiled, smoothing her free hand over her sweatpants. black sweatpants meant no signs or tells of grease or anything else charlie might get on them. clever, yet unintentional thinking.
lately charlie had been talking less and less to her sister, but she still had managed to find out she was dating someone! someone that looked peculiarly like the gentleman in front of her. dj had always been incredible with describing things, it was like charlie could see whatever she was talking about. "thanks for that, i was beginning to think i might need to downgrade." she laughed lightly and shook her head. "i probablly won't eat all this by myself, but it'll definitely turn out to be my snack all day." she admitted, sipping her soda for something to do.
"im charlotte trighton by the way, and you seem like someone i've heard a lot about." charlie admitted, hoping she didn't sound alltogether creepy.

James just laughed lightly. "Trighton? You're not DJ's sister, are you?" They didn't spend much time talking about her sister, but he knew she had one. He couldn't remember her name though. This was funny though, if this is how they ended up meeting. "I'm James Barker." he said. He would have shook her hand, but all four hands between them were busy.
He walked into the theater and said, "So, you wanna join me?" he said. Might as well sit with someone--especially if she was the little sister of his girlfriend. "But I'm dating this girl named DJ so, don't read into this." He chuckled softly.

live like you're dying- - - - charlotte chuckled and shook her head, it was just her luck to run into dj's boyfriend at the playhouse. not that this was a bad thing, from all dj's talking about him, charlie had gathered that james was an all-around good guy. good looking too. but for some reason, their father didn't like him much. that, charlie would have to decide for herself.
"the very same." she admitted, nodding, "it's finally nice to meet you, james." she said, "i'd shake your hand but...well, i think you know why." charlie grinned. "join you? certainly, sir." she said, her british accent very much noticable, she was putting on this bravado act, and hopefully he could tell she was joking.
"oh, of course not, i already think of you as...an older brother." oops, maybe that was the wrong thing to say. "not that you and dj are going to get married anytime soon...oh! but that wouldn't be a bad thing. shit." she shook her head. the rambling had always been a problem.

James smiled. At least she liked him. Their father had been kind of annoyed when they'd first met, probably because James had been shitless because his shirts were in her dryer (thanks to the rain) --- not to mention he had only met DJ herself about an hour before. But whatever... they were a good match, and he hadn't really spoken to Mr Trighton since, he wondered if he even knew they were dating. James was pretty sure he'd be against the interracial thing, not to mention the tattoo...
He just laughed as she started to ramble about him already being like a brother. Sweet really. But he hadn't really though of the implications of marrying DJ, tho he had imagined it a few times. Not like he'd said anything aloud. "I think it's a bit early to be considering that, but I appreciate the sentiment." james said, picking out seats for them and sitting down.
Once she was settled, he handed over her huge popcorn, placing his much small popcorn in his own lap and munching thoughtfully.

live like you're dying- - - - charlie blushed, embarassed, but let it go. she wasn't usually the type to be embarassed, maybe it was because she'd definitely tell her sister later how she'd slipped up, and she doubted dj would be all too amused. james had taken it nicely though, and that was a relief.
"i've seen this show tons of times, it's amazing, really." she told him with a nod. dumping her snowcaps into her popcorn, that was charlie's thing, the chocolate in the popcorn. it was incredible. "how'd you meet my sister?" she asked then, suddenly really, they'd both simply been munching 'thoughtfully' as one would put it, waiting for the show.

"Oh really? I wasn't sure, but I just didn't feel like homework, you know?" He said when she said that it was a good movie. James figured if it was terrible or amazing he'd have something to say, as long as it wasn't just okay. Besides, writing an essay on the structure of cells was not something he had at the top of his list. Dj, his family and his truck were at the top of his list. Well, schoolwork was important, he just didn't care that much.
"Oh, well, I met her at the coffee house, I saw her and went over to try and flirt with her.. and your sister isn't a very good flirt, but it made her even cuter. And I guess I did something right, because she invited me over to the apartment and let me put my shirts in the dryer. That's when your dad walked in, and you can imagine what that conversation was like." James laughed. Was that too much detail? Nah. She was her sister anyway.
He tossed a piece of popcorn up and caught it in his mouth.
