history,
Jack Foley was born in Cordova, New Jersey on the last day of 1979, along with Kyle Foley. Michael and Brooke couldn't have been more excited. Michael was a police officer and Brooke wrote for the local newspaper. From ages one through five, nothing really happened to the family. When Jack was five, there was another addition to the Foley family. His sister Emily was born. That's when all the trouble started. The little girl could do no wrong. If something bad happened, the blame was either put on Jack or Kyle. The twins couldn't stand her, and there was nothing they could do to change their parents' minds. Even as teenagers, Emily never got grounded for anything. Jack and Kyle tended to stay away from Emily and not do anything to make her mad, because that's how it usually got started.
One summer before sixth grade, Michael took the family to a Nets game, and Jack was in love with the sport ever since. As it turned out, he was pretty good at the sport. He tried out for his high school team, and made it. He managed to break the school's records for most points and most three-pointers made, both in his junior year. Kyle also made the team in his sophomore year, but Jack was always the better athlete. In fact, he got basketball scholarships to several colleges, but decided to stay at home and go to Cordova University. He majored in criminology while at the university. After his senior year, he chose not to enter the draft, even though his coaches told him he would surely be a first-round pick. Instead, he set out to follow in his father's footsteps and become a cop.
While he was in the police academy, he lost two family members. Kyle had dropped out of college and joined with the Marines in 2003. The Foleys learned that he truly died a hero. His squad was under heavy fire, and for a while, it seemed that they had the upper hand, until the enemy started lobbing grenades. Kyle could tell the blast would kill most of the squad, so he sacrificed himself and threw himself over the grenades. His commanding officer nominated him for the Medal of Honor. The second blow came when he lost his father. Some cops died in the middle of a shootout against robbers. Others died in a high-speed car chase. Jack's father died during a routine traffic stop when he was shot by someone while writing a ticket for passing a stop sign. The guy just didn't want a ticket. From that moment on, his uncle Ben became his father figure. He graduated from the police academy, along with his cousin Andy, a few years ago. Everything was relatively normal until recently. A killer surfaced, and he's been a nuisance to Jack ever since. He can never figure out the riddles he leaves, and he's never been able to help a target. His partner, a guy fresh out of the academy, always thinks he knows what's going on with the killer, but he usually ends up clueless.
He met his wife, Sarah, in 2007. They dated for about a year, and then they got married on December 22, 2008. The only person who really showed any objection was Uncle Ben, because being a policeman was a high-stress job, and he wasn't sure if they could handle it. They assured him it wouldn't interfere with anything, but he still has doubts to this day. So far, the marriage has gone along smoothly, and they are expecting their first child in a few months.
